Mid rise or High rise rings for 392

I know that on the 392s, I would most likely want high rise rings to mount my scope because of the height of the comb of the stock, but what about the standard 392 with the wood stock? Is it low enough to call for the mid rise rings, or will I still need higher rings?

Too, wouldn't the mid rise mounts be inherently more accurate over varying distances due to it's being closer to the barrel's axis?

Thanks,

Don

I would put the lowest possible mounts on it, or use one of the Baker mounts and a lightweight scope as well as scopes have a tendency to pull the barrel loose from the tube as they are only soldered together. I have had scopes on mine for years though without problems, but I was careful, so it can be done safely with or without the Baker mount.

I'm not sure if the 392 I'm getting is a PA model or not, so until I get it, I don't know if the Baker mount will fit. The seller did say he is including the Crosman scope mounts with the gun.
