micheal , a great idea - consolidated

i find the member feedback a great , and necessary add on to the forum. however , i find it cumbersome to use. how about having it listed under each member like the accuracy system is. this way anyone can click on a members feedback history directly. It would save people tons of time in assessing a sellers credibility profile. while i understand no system can garantee anything. it would be an easy to use guide. just a thought to help improve a great forum.

Is this ebay? Lol. While that's an good idea, idk how that will help. Since this is a forum we come to share ideas and ask for help. It's not a sales site. Think of it as craigslist. We post an ad and someone see our ads and buys it. There is no buyers or seller protection. No refunds. On ebay, you post a listing. Someone buys your item, only the buyer can leave a feedback. On here, there is no such listing. So anyone can leave a good feed back or bad feed back. Seller can make multiple accounts and give himself good feedbacks. Then he can use that good feedback to scam people. See where this is going? Imo this wont work, unless admin turns this into ebay which isnt gonna happen.

no , no , no , LOL! i was expecting this kind of possible response. all i was suggesting was taking the member feedback from it's separate forum and possibly fusing it to each member respectively. example , i have about 15 feedbacks spread over around 70 pages of member feedback. wouldn't it be better if when you clicked on my thumbnail where my accuracy is listed they would have my feedback listed in a catagory there? so you don't have to search for it. your concern is noted , but do you really think someone will go to all the trouble of setting up several aliases to give themselves good feedback? i know at least 50 solid reputation members here. it's the new or unknown members this would help with. anyone can beat you on a deal but i would have no reservations with someone with a positive 30+ rating . ex. joe rhea

not sure how the ebay correlation came about.

I used ebay as a example cause what you are referring to is basically what ebay used. Each member will have his own feedback. Both positive and negative feedbacks. So anyone buying can click on the person account and see if they have positive feedbacks. You will be more likely to buy from someone with 30 positive feedbacks vs from someone with only 2 positive feedbacks and 20 negative feedbacks. The difference between ebay and airgun nation is, this isnt a selling site. It's a forum. Anything you sell or buy is at your own risk. Ebay's feedback requires you to actually buy an item to be able to give a feedback. On AGN, you can make positive or negative accuracy, so same can be made with feedbacks. Trust me, if someone wants their items to sell, they will make tons of random accounts to give themselves good feedbacks to make them look trustworthy. A member sees someone selling a fx impact mk2 for $1600. Click on the seller account. Oh he has 45 positive feedbacks and 0 negative feedback. He looks trustworthy. Imma buy it. Contact seller and send money. Seller sends a rock. Buyer is left with a rock and $1600 lost. I'm just using this as an example how feedbacks on here can do bad more than it do good cause there is no requirement to buying before leaving feedback, no customer support if you get scam, no refund or money guarantee. Everything here is buy at your own risk. I remember seeing Michael stated somewhere on forum everything you buy or sell is at your own risk.

2fast2furious - ok , i get it that AGN is a forum first. michael has stated that there are no garantees and you should contact seller to verify etc. but i find 2 things a bit off with your point. the first being that the member feedback exists already. so what do you propose? get rid of it? by your analysis it is flawed. ok. all i proposed was to move that forum from it's present setup and let it sub divide the feedback to it's subject members accordingly. this does not give it more importance , just makes it more organised. no? as for sending a rock , so to speak , paypal "goods and services" for 3.5% extra is supposed to help deal with that stuff. if you choose to paypal F&F for a $1500 gun , that's your risk, and i would never recommend it.

buy your position , we should just "do away" with the member feedback portion of the site. i disagree , because members sign their name to a post. you look them up , they have reputations , number of posts. you get a "feel" for who is bogus , and who is legit. i have bought and sold over $10,000 in supplies here in past 2 years. by your stance , i doubt you have ever bought anything posted here. forgive me , but you sound too suspicious of others.

I have to agree not a bad idea rangur 1 . I have been on the forum for only 11/2 years now . Myself I think I can tell if some people are legit just by what they post & how they represent them selves on AGN most of us do . I keep a eye out on everything post-wtb-wts-ect call me stupid what ever . I do not have pay pal so that is a blessing in some ways (man what a collection I would have by now & prob. be in a divorce LOL) I have only bought from 5 members on here & dealt with another person for 3D printed items, but have never sold anything . Just when I thought I got to know most of the people, bam in the last 5 to 6 months the forum from what I've seen has really grown. Ranur1 for me being a computer idiot it would help me out . Sorry for the rambles Darell

I do not need member feedback,I know who is good.....that said ,people that are not good get told on anyhow..

I think it is better to investigate the seller yourself and if you can't that should be a concern,so you need to contact the seller and ask pertinent questions and some references.

Feedback,I seen were "friends" were patting each other on the back too much.....I do like to read about the shops or stores that supply the airgunners needs....

Maybe it is a good idea to have feedback,it helps some people and there is nothing wrong with that.So there I said a lot of nothing and ain't running for office.

Agree. This is an airgun forum first and remotely (and very remotely) a buyer-seller exchange. Let's not setup a judgment system based on seller-buyer feedback but keep it based on airgun-issues contributions.
