Tuning Metric Pin Punch for Rekord Trigger

4mm or 5/32" is the correct size. Proper use of a correct steel punch is better for the trigger dowel pins. The brass is too soft and the end will flare over in short order. You'll be continually dressing the punch end.

Brass punches are best for not marring finished pieces. In gunsmithing they are typically used to knock dovetail sights laterally.

On the record trigger use a steel pin punch and either a light metal hammer or plastic mallet. Typically I just use the handle of this screw driver to knock the pins in and out.

Thanks Ron,
So the pins holding the assembly to the receiver is 4mm? I watched a TBM video and he used a 3mm brass to remove the trigger. Probably just the one he had in his hand at the time. ;-)

I was just gonna order a few punches. Looks like a 1/16 for the small trigger pins.

The pins that hold the trigger assembly in the receiver are 4mm. I'm not sure about the pins that hold the rekord trigger together. I avoid taking them apart so I can't recall the sizes off hand.

The 4mm pins holding the trigger assembly in aren't a tight fit. Use a 4mm steel pin punch to remove the pins. The 4mm punch comes in handy when reinstalling the trigger assembly.
