Metal (pellet proof) Bird Feeder?

Hey all

Has anyone got a link, or can they make me a steel (just thick enough to prevent .17 and maybe .25 pellet damage) bird feeder?

It needs to be all metal, squirrels are eating and destroying the bird feeders that are wood. And completely looting the feeders such that I’m spending half a bag a day on these feeders because they just come and pig out all day while the birds get little.

I looked on Amazon and I don’t agree that some are squirrel proof. So I want a feeder that’s all metal and can withstand pellets of .17 and .25
And a platform would be nice

Good luck on your search, most are squirrel "resistant", for a while anyway. I watched greys & red squirrel defeat any & all I've ever made ,had made ,or purchased ! Sometimes it's as entertaining to watch them figure out the plunder as it is to watch the birds ! I've known people that set them up (w/ a tray) to
be able to shoot across the unit tray to avoid hitting the feeder at all. That would require a safe backstop or so beyond for impact.

I'm a welder and machinest and I could make a feeder pellet proof, I don't have any idea about squirrel proof but if you use your pellets, I assume that the squirrel probably would be solved..
I don't know where you are located, I'd build one if you sent me pictures of what you want and a drawing with measurements.. you'll pay less for shipping if you can do pirate ship
you are welcome to PM me and then we can exchange contact info.

I leaned the other direction. Instead of a pellet proof bird feeder to keep the squirrels away, I built a pellet proof squirrel 'feeder' to target the little tree rats.

I do not think you will find a metal pellet rifle proof squirrel feeder for shooting at squirrels on Amazon. And with all of the angles a feeder might have, such a thing might ricochet pellets all over the place.

Here’s mine. You’re welcome to use the design if you can find a welder. You could cut the cost of building it by using lumber instead of metal for the majority of it with just a metal feed ramp/backstop to take the punishment of the pellets.

Nice, I like the fact that you can use the magnets to hang a target on it also. Mark
