Me & My Prosport Concerns

I haven't shot my Pro Sport for about a week and upon shooting today only a 20 yards my groups we're kind of tight at first but we're nowhere near where I had the rifle zeroed at which is 26yds. I am at a quandary about as to why this is. Maybe it's because I haven't shot her in a week or maybe because I had her leaning in a corner for that whole week. Who knows. Then I get nervous and think that since the pro sport has such shallow dovetails are my bkl mounts not actually fully seated within the dovetails. I don't see no scope movement within the Rings nor did I see any movement from the rings on the dovetail as meaning creeping rearward. I am just a nervous wreck when anything changes with my Springer's but then at the same time I have to realize that it's what they are... Springers, LOL!

My TX200 gets knobby when it gets ignored too. Check stock screws, including the crossover screw, then maybe a quick wipe down the barrel with Ballistol or your choice of magic spit on a swab then a couple of dry swabs and patches, then shoot it in. How's the wind when you shoot? No...not YOUR wind...

I recently...yesterday...worked out accuracy issues with the TX and my Terrus ...both in .22...by switching pellets. I only stock two types in .22... H&N FTT'S and JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy. I dunno...think about that a bit...

Change nothing, shoot it for a while and see if the poi stays the same, gets better or continues to wander in the same direction. I have found that if I pick one up and shoot it 50 rounds or so it often returns to where it was before. I'm guessing it is either scope temp or me settling back into a rhythm, but I have seen this with a couple of guns now.

That's what I didn't do yarddog...check screws. I have less than a tin since last cleaning but will definitely check screws. Thanks

Springers shift with temperature, humidity, inactivity, too much activity, and of course there's springer gremlins that just are. I would say every competitor who uses a springer will tell you the same. It's the nature of a purely mechanical gun.

John the terrible part is that you are right. The good part is that you are right lol
