Results May 24th Tacoma match results

Posted for my man Dave B!

We had our first Field Target match last Saturday May 24th 2025.
We only had 4 shooters that came out to shoot, Dave B, John C, Mark W, and Jason B.
Since Jason came all the way from Portland we decided to have the match.
The weather was cool but the sun did come out and it was very comfortable shooting.
We had set up our string of streamer flags to help with reading the wind. It went from the center tree
at 50 yards to the center post on the cover. It made it look very festive.
This helped us check out the back and forth wind changes.
We had 6 lanes of knockdown targets, one lane of chicken silhouette targets standing at 17 yards.
Two lanes had targets at 50 yards and one at 55 yards. All the rest were from 10yards to 45 yards.
When we shoot in the upper field it is actually harder because the winds have a greater effect.
It's harder to see the wind blowing the grass because it has been mowed. No leaves to watch on the trees
because they are only Fir trees. In the woods you have all the things to watch.
We had practice and started the match at 10:00. Jason and Mark paired up to start in lane one.
Dave and John paired up to start in lane 5. When Jason started to shoot in the second lane his
gun broke down and was no longer able to be used. Mark let Jason use his gun so he could finish the rest of the match. Thank you Mark.
We all had a great time and a lot of fun. Here are the scores for the 42 shot match.
Mark Walker 38
Dave Brown 36
Jason Blackburn 35
John Calhoun 27
Great shooting everybody

I wish I had known about it. I don't really have a field target rifle, but I live in Tacoma and would have loved to have met up and talked airguns.

Pretty much everyone had been shooting at 25 yds just because any wind on the airgun range really moves the pellets around when you are only throwing like 600FPS. It is a pretty good bunch of guys, moslty PCP, many of whom also shoot in the N50 matches on other weekends. I shoot 22LR at those N50 matches and also go to other ranges for ARA matches in a similar format.
