Maximus parts question

Hello all, I’m new to the forum, but not to airguns. I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with some part numbers.

I would like to order the transfer port, hammer spring, and barrel from Crosman for a .177 Maximus Euro. I haven’t had any luck trying to figure out the correct numbers, and would really like to have my ducks in a row when I give Crosman a call.

On another note, my new Maximus is currently on the FedEx slow boat (been in transit for 12 days now from Kansas to Washington, with a predicted delivery in another 4 days, sigh). I have yet to handle a Maximus, and I’m wondering how the buttplate is attached? I like to fill synthetic stocks with expanding foam to deaden the hollow sound, but all the pictures I’ve seen would seem to show the buttplate as having no screws for retention. Any idea how it is attached?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry Odoyle! I never thought someone would tear into their Maximus like that!

I truly appreciate the effort though. Can I buy you a new buttplate as a way of saying thank you? I’m pretty sure all of us who own a Maximus are grateful for your, um, loss. We now know what not to do.

As for the parts list, again, thank you. I have actually seen that before, which I should have mentioned, but wasn’t sure if those parts numbers applied here in the States, as that list is from England. You will see that many of the numbers begin with GB, as those are the parts unique to the guns made for Great Britain, which now that I think of it, is pretty much a Euro, duh.

Thanks all the way around, and really, let me buy you a new part, please.

I downloaded the 2 different Maximus parts diagrams from Crosmans web site. I ordered the hammer spring and TP for a Euro. I didn’t order the Euro barrel or the or the E-tube. The hammer spring and TP only gave me about 8 fpe and a terrible shot curve. To get to 12 fpe I had to drill out the TP, add a power adjuster and use a .038 hammer spring. I now get about 35-40 shots with a 30 FPS deviation from bottom to top to bottom from 1800-1100 psi. That is with a JSB Exact 8.44 gr but with a Baracuda match 10.? I have a much flatter curve but not as accurate. I talked to Crosman about the E-tube and barrel but didn’t get a positive yes or no if that would make difference. I also ordered a Challenger TP it was a different color but from what I could measure it was the same inside diameter as the Euro TP. If I was to start over I think I would get a Fortitude and dial it down to 12 fpe. The Maximus is too loud even at 12 fpe to be a backyard shooter without a moderator of some type. The GEO LDC is more than adequate for $28.
