Anyone know how to take these off? It doesn't have any screws and I have tried heating it, something bubbled out between it and the barrel , but it still wouldn't come off?? Barrel doesn't shoot well and wanted to try and polish the crown before ordering another barrel.

I have read on another forum it has a set screw or set screws and suggest you check for them.

They don’t have a set screw, and I have bought a 177 barrel and the adapter to make a 177 hunter essentially. They are just a press on type fit, but the barrels do have some groves on them to probably hold a glue of some sort. That’s why I figured heating it would loosen the glue and then you could pound it off.
Put it to you this way though i was going to glue mine on my 177 barrel and slid it on to check how it would fit. Well I couldn’t get it back off , so I just pounded it on the rest of the way and left it. They are tight.
i think new barrels are only 20 bucks or so, in my opinion I would just get a new one.

Maximus barrels are 27 without adapter or 32 with adapter plus 14 shipping from crosman, I ordered a disco barrel for now until I can figure out the best deal on a good barrel
