Max plenum on regulators?

Due to the success that FX has achieved with their larger "power" plenums on the Impact and Dreamline platforms providing higher power and shot counts, should we always go with larger plenum sizes on 3rd party regulators? For example, for a Hatsan AT44 in .177, would it be wise to go with the larger plenum ordinarily used for, say, a .25 caliber?

will a to big plenum do any harm? I cant imagine that....

the only thing would be take away space from the tube, cant think of anything else

All pcp can be fitted with a larger plenum. But most pcp have a airtube and a larger plenum will take more space from the tube, so you will get more power but suffer in shot count. As for the impact, it's a bottle gun and the plenum is all the way in the back so you dont lose and air capacity. And the dreamliners, the PP is screw in the front, so it makes it longer but still dont lose capacity. Most regulator are install inside the air tube, so you lose capacity. I rather have more shot counts and have a higher fpe.

So...would there be any benefit to installing the Huma 30cc plenum in an fx wildcat mk2 “compact” with a 500mm slug barrel?

Anything over 1cc per fpe is basically not needed. You get to the point of diminishing returns. higher power and larger calibers will see alot more benefit from larger plenums than a smaller caliber in the 20fpe and below range.
