MAVRICK .25 WHAT DID I DO?

I messed around with my Mavrick trying different tunes and now I get hit in the face with blast of air every time I fire it. I checked breach for missing o-rings none missing. I bought this gun used it had an upgraded hammer but not pellet probe so I have mixed match parts but it shot fine before took apart. Any ideas?

Is your barrel fully seated? Is the probe depth correct? Both could cause your issue. The maverick has adjustment for probe depth, but they also loosen over time, and could shift. Check the 2 screws that hold the cocking lever to the probe rod. This is where they usually loosen or move. If they have, you should see marks on the rod where it used to be.

Yep it's probably the 2 grub screws that hold the cocking rod.. do yourself a favor and when you get it back in perfect position, put sharpie marks on either side of the cocking lever's block. That will make it easier to put back. That adjustment effects how much the hammer spring is compressed and how far it seats the pellet/slug. Trust me it can be a pain. I have already gone through 3 cocking rods.
