So I go to shoot my new maverick and I go through one mag and put the second mag and in. I cock the gun and it uncocked I take mag out after 2/3 attempts I am able to cock gun ans shoot slug out. It almost seems like the cocking rod is not going back far enough. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like something is creeping on you? Could be the trigger, the hammer tension, etc.... Have you adjusted anything on the gun?

I haven’t adjusted anything. I literally put my pellets in the mag and started shooting. I ran through one mag answer everything was fine. Second mag was the issue. I was able to call fxusa and the technician said it’s something in the main block itself. The block with the 2 set screws are tight ans did not move.

If th hammer spring is turned too far counter clockwise it won’t cock. Turn hammer spring 1/2 turn clock wise and see if that works

Not that it won’t cock it almost like the coming arm is not catching the hammer ans releasing it half way

Happened on my Rapid yesterday, somehowma pellet got behind the magazine and ended up behind the hammer and spring causing it not to cock. Same thing happens on my Edgun

The cocking arm linkage attachment slipped on mine. One screw was half way backed out and the other was loose

sounds like something is in the hammer sear catch, maybe a pellet fell inside or a piece of something is causing the sear to not catch properly. check for any obstructions.

To be able to check to see if anything is lodged I would have to remove the power wheel and hammer correct? Anything else?

Watch out for the ball bearing behind the dial , measure the Allen head screw for hammer spring should only be out so far, do not remember the distance.

If the Maverick is like a Wildcat MK 3 which I think is similar in terms of cocking linkage, there are 3 thinks you can check, 1) the jammed pellet which you have recommendations to do, 2) even though the 4 screws that hold that linkage may be secure, loosen them and realign the linkage to the point the action stays cocked, (typically needs to slip back a small amount, IME), and 3) the back screw on the adjustments is the Safety, adjust that last screw (check diagrams to verify the screw), may need a small adjustment. These 3 were the common source of corrections on my Wildcat.
All of the above are DIY adjustments which you will need to become familiar with if the Maverick is similar to the Wildcat MK3, at least this was my experience. HTH.
