Maverick vs Impact Need a Sanity Check

It is obvious that you understand airguns and understand how people self inflict many of their issues. Just because the Impact can be adjusted tons, It doesn’t mean you have to, just as you said. And for those that say you don’t need that much power... fine, dial down the power and get a ton more shots!

In the FX line, I have had two Impacts and now have a Crown. I haven’t needed to touch anything but the power wheel to shoot different pellets. Never a single problem with any.

In the end, buy from a place that is going to set it up like you want it, for the power and pellets you want it, and that checks it out. SPAW did that for my last Impact and my current Crown and I couldn’t be happier. I’m not an FX fanboy but I’m just not an FX hater either. My next rifle might be my third Daystate if I can talk myself into it, but I’m in no hurry the way my Crown is shooting.

Getting about (3) 26 shot mags (Midwest Elite) with 50.15gr at 750FPS with my little ~330mm TJ barrel in the compact setup. This is with the factory valve and a beefier valve return spring.

If you just want to shoot and do it accurately, consider a Cricket. Charlie Frear at Georgia Airguns will set it up the way you want. You will save a few bucks too over the FX. I own Crickets and Impacts. Impacts are for fiddling.
Impacts and Mavericks are easy to fiddle with because of the externally adjustable regulators. If you wanna adjust a Kalibr in the least, your tearing down the gun to get to the regulator. That's what made me return my defective Argus and move over to the Maverick.

But the man said that he wanted to set it and forget it. So why not save $500? Everyone, including me, had to buy some accessories for our Impacts and spend another $3-400 over the 2K cost of the rifle.

I was under the impression that the OP wanted to know the difference between the Impact and the Maverick. My vote was for the Maverick, since it can at least be tuned without additional equipment like the Kalibr needs, and then left alone. Aren't the Maverick and Cricket around the same price?

Impacts are set and forget if that's what you want to do. :) Plus you can do more later if you want. that's worth 500 imo :)

quote from "qball in another thread. "First is the ping in the ear, the hammer is an inch away from your ear drum, a lot of people don’t hear it but they had other bullpups so guess they are used to it or I’m just sensitive. I feel the trigger is slightly better and certainly there is more power with additional upgrade on the impact. However one of the biggest reason to get impact beside those points is the adjustable valve return spring, the fine tune capability from that little knob can not be overstated. So yes. IMHO Impact is absolutely an upgrade and well worth the upgrade price after owning both guns side by side. "
