Without taking the whole back end of the rifle apart is there a way to tell when the hammer spring is all the way out to max? I know if I take the buttstock and everything off I can measure the 6mm. I am assuming there is no retainer or anything on it. So....suggestions?

I’ve not tried this but I think you could adjust the hammer spring in small increments cocking the gun after each adjustment till it won’t cock then back it back out till it will cock there is your max.

I would take it out to measure it. Can tell you for a fact that mine was past 6mm and still cocking.

Just take it apart and measure it, it takes 5 minutes. All you have are the two lower stock screws(3mm, 2.5mm), then the 2.5mm holding the adjustment dial on there. The piece comes right out from there. Just remove the adjustment dial slowly, and make sure the detent ball doesn't get away. After that, just put a little glob of silicon grease where the detent ball goes and stick it back on there. It's pretty quick and easy really
