Tuning Maverick Tune ?

In my experience I get the lowest as more consistently with the wheel on 7 and adj screw maxed. But I also tune for max velocity of gun by turning hammer spring in(counter clockwise) till the gun won’t cock then turn air up from 100 bar 5 bar at a time till velocity drops then work back to max velocity then you can turn pw down to desired velocity and adj accordingly

Do not start your tune on a lower power wheel number. You get more "range" tuning from the top...down. The power wheel is nothing more than a stepped wheel. Its a macro adjuster, while the internal hex screw is your micro adjuster. Both apply or take away tension on the same spring.

You are aiming for 3-5 percent below MAX velocity with the hammer wheel on 7. If you want to shoot heavier projectiles, start the tune with a heavier projectile so when you lower the power wheel (decrease hammer spring tension), luckily, you find a setting that drops the speeds down for those lighter pellets at the expense of consistency in fps throughout the shot string and especially near the reg set point.

Ideally, you really need to pick a projectile and tune for that projectile. You adjust reg for speed and fine tune the window of speed you get with the hammer spring adjuster (power wheel). Someone else said it best...the power wheel/hammer spring tension adjuster is your oxygen sensor/fuel air meter while your reg pressure is your gas pedal.
