Open box @ 8 am sat am. Set scope and sighted in. WOW. MOA @ 100 yds. Around 3 PM, I had around a tin through it. Started shooting low. Out of air bottle reg a little low ( I filled it every 50 shots because there is no gage). Put the bottle on and ran it up to 240 fish. After a couple shots reg jumped to bottle pressure. Any way there was a cascade of pressure variations which finally affect 2nd reg. Turned on Ernest, 68 Whiskey, and Matt. Sat right there and went through trying to adjust regs. STEP BY STEP, pausing to be sure I'm following exactly. Finally had bottle pressure @ 1 and no pressure @ 2. Put it down in disgust.

I had turned the hammer screw to allow slugs and 33.95 shooting. All of a sudden air from barrel.. backed off. Stopped air run,

Got up this morning, put my impact bottle on. Adjusted. Could get 1st to 200, 2nd to 100. It will shoot. Gone to coffeeshop to let it sit.

When I got it , Ken had it set 175/145 +-. Shooting like wiz. Shazam. I touch it and the Gremlins come out! Texted Ken to inquire about procedures.

Since I haven't paid for it yet??. I can't afford to ship these guns around!

I've ranted enough!

Tip: Never buy a New Fx airgun out the gate too many quality control issues. Haven't you learned anything ? Your a veteran in the game

Firstly I don't think your post helps the situation, secondly you will see that at the point of announcing the MAVERICK the guns were pretty much ready to go to dealers, indicating IMO that the release was carefully planned and not rushed. certainly when you take into account the MAVERICK concept goes a fair way back.

I have bought 15 FX rifles this year personally and not had a single problem with any of them, so either I am very lucky or your QC comment does not hold water excepting the very small percentage of defects that happen with any large volume manufacturers products.

Aside from that I hope Keymans gun gets fixed quickly, as I am sure it will and I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my MAVERICK, although I do admit to being a little intimidated by having to adjust dual regs!

Having said that now my craving for squeezing every last inch of power from a new gun has subsided, I find I shoot it just as it comes out of the box, never had so much fun to be honest!

Relax, you are in good hands being an FX product. It'll get sorted out. It's a brand new platform. I'm sure FX wore themselves out trying to get it right the first time, but they are still human. Hopefully you won't have to send it in.

I may have been a little harsh on the Maverick starting out not having one myself. The reason is that I already know what's good about it. I just need to know what to watch out for, with any of them. So I point out the things I have questions on hoping for clarity. My FX is absolutely awesome, but still needs TLC like all my others, but not very often, which is nice.
