Maverick goods and bass

Pros:
Tunable, effective or high shotcount (depending on tune), powerfull, can shoot both pellets and slugs good. Dual regs. Can change barrel, liner or caliber easy. Big plenum, which can be swapped around for small plenum volume. High capasity mags. Low weight. Allot of aftermarket stuff available, relative simple construction. Good air volume, and can use 300bar aftermarket bottles. Adjustable butt plate. Comes with shroud and moderator, quiet.

Cons:
The magazines being plastic, and not always as good tolerances (can somethimes jam, or need small modifications), only comes with 1 magazine. Some might prefer a solid barrel being more sturdy. The safety being at the rear. The stock not good for use on a bag.

Have one myself in .22. I would say a aftermarket bagrider is necesarry, for use on a bag.
I liked it so much that I also got myself a wildcat mk3 bt vp on black friday, in .177, which share allot of the same parts. The only issue I had with the wildcat, was that the breach had turning chips left under the O-ring, in the grove. That leading to air blow back. That was fixed by blowing the grove clean, and a new O-ring. And also the pellet probe seemed to catch on the edge of the rotating magazine, espeasially on the last round. That I fixed by chamfering off the edges some, and it now feeds well. No gun is perfect, I have other brands also with minor issues. On some FX guns the magazines doeas not always be up to top notch standard, compared to the rest of the gun.

I can also share what the other issues is with my other brands, so other does not get the impression only FX can have issues.

On my taipan veteran, the anti double loading doeas not always work. Have taken the mecansim apart once, cleaned and lubed it some. But it is a complex mecanism with many small parts, not totally reliable yet on my gun. It is nothing that bothers me, as the gun othervise function normally, and feeds well.

On my AGT vulcan 2, the cocking handle seemed to lock up, and could hardly be pullet. Seemed like it was lubed with silicone grease on the cocking block which slides over the barrel. The barrel was all scrathed off after being in use some. For now it seems to be gonne after I polished the hammer, and replaced the lube under the cocking block, with a better one. It is very accurate, but the ES has a wide spread, and the POI somethimes change. So my next step is to chrony the gun going off the reg, to find out if it is a reg issue, or hammer. So it is not 100% yet.

I know isn't it funny how fx is the only guns that can have problems but I've owned my Maverick sniper since it came out and I had a problem with the valve sticking (it was my fault my compressor was putting water into the gun and I was new to airguns and had no idea) but they were very helpful and replaced the valve for free every manufacturer of anything will have problems but what determines if they are a good company is how they take care of their problems my experience with fx is superb

And that is sooooo true!
Without good customer service, the best products can be worthless!

I was wondering what all the major pros and cons are of the fx maverick?n I am thinking of selling mine but I just want to hear what people really think of the good and bad before I make my decision. Thanks for any input
Selling to get what? Much easier to tell pros and cons if you have another airgun in mind since you already own the Maverick.

I have owned three of them. Sold two to make room for the wife and my M3’s. Sill have my 25 Compact and it would take an act of congress to get me to part with it.
The other two were a 700mm and 600mm in 22. Both were very reliable and accurate. The M3 is a step up from the Maverick, but not much of one.
None of the three have provided any grief that I did not cause.
Solid guns.

I have a Maverick VP in 25 cal that shoots pellets and now Knockout slugs extremely accurate. POI between the two is 1 moa vertical and horizontal.
Never had a leak and I've breathed on the barrel many times without a poi shift.
I was thinking of adding a M3 in 22 but now am leaning towards another Maverick.
