Maven 5x20x56 vs Nightforce SHV 5x20x56

I am in the market for a 50 to 200 yard scope for both pellet and rim fire use. Desired use is target only, both bench and standing. Right now I am between the Maven and Nightforce. My local range has a Shuetzen group that shots 200 yards in warm weather and air rifles indoors during cold months. I am now in the process of setting up for both. If anybody has any useful advice I am all ears.
Thanks

I hadn't heard of Maven until your post. I don't have any experience with that company. However I have owned several Nightforce scopes and still do.

They aren't budget friendly , but I find that as my eyes age I require better glass for shooting , seeing , ect . I judge an optic by the amount of magnification I

need at a particular distance. On some scopes I need 16 X or 20 X @ 50 to 75 yards. On some with better glass I may be able to get the same resolution

at 10 to 12 X. Another consideration is the amount of light gathering the scope is capable of. I'm no expert , just an old guy that likes to find his target.

It is hard to beat Nightforce in general and the SHV in particular. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. Plus they offer a great moa reticle that is uncluttered and easy to use. At 200 yds. a magnification of 20 X max will give you a crystal clear sight picture that should cover your desired applications for both RF and airguns. They seem to have cut out the frills and lowered the price without degrading the product. Win, win.
