How do I figure FPS if my pellet weight is 25.39 grains and my fpe is 55? Thanks for the help.

So explain this to me please. This is the spec sheet for the FX Wildcat MK3 compact. Based on this cut sheet I should be able to get 35 shots at 988FPS??? Is that correct or am I missing something?

I’m pretty sure that’s the larger sniper. Look a couple line ups at the compact numbers. Thanks for trying to help me. I have a FX chronograph coming in the mail and I’m trying to figure out a target FPS so I can get the optimum tune for what the specs say. Sorry I’m kind of new to trying to tune a gun.

Also - keep in mind you might not get that fpe with 25gr pellets. That upper bound of the fpe might be limited to the 34gr pellets. With 25gr you may max out around 50-52 fpe.

Let G=grains; v=velocity (fps); FPE=foot pounds
FPE = (V*V*G)/450240
Rearranging:
FPE*450240=(V*V*G)
(FPE*450240)/G = V*V
SQRT((FPE*450240)/G)=V
FPE = (V*V*G)/450240

Here's a little trick. If the calculator is in the portrait mode on your cellphone, it will not show the square root symbol. Turn your cellphone sideways to auto-rotate to the landscape mode and magically it appears.
