FT Match Report Arlington Sportsman’s Club 09/27/2025
Welcome to the ASC FT September 2025 match report. The temps were a little cooler than they were last month with a high of 86F and light winds. It feels like the summer is loosening her grip on Texas. We had a light turnout for such a wonderful day with only 13 shooters, and we had one new and two new-ish shooters in Unlimited, shooting with their grandfather Jerry C. Since the AAFTA Nationals is right around the corner, this match was a warm-up to get shooters attending the Nats into the mood.
The Troyer today was 33.9, SD 4.94, Avg Dist 31.4 yds, and Avg KZ 1.05”. There were 30 targets on 15 lanes resulting in a 60-shot match, until someone shot the leader off a target up in a tree. Without a ladder handy, I was unable to fix it, so we tossed that one out and were left with 58 shots for the match. The match ran smoothly other than that little incident, and I heard some friendly comments about the MD who setup the course by some shooters who were struggling to adjust to the difficulty today. ;-) I must admit that there was a blue gator target at 54 yards across an open field that was in the shade and by about 10am was almost impossible to pick out anything but the KZ, but kudos to the shooters, more than 50% of you knocked it down twice.
The scores were a little below average this month, I believe due to the tougher Troyer factor and some winds about midway through the match. Here are the results for September:
Dan R won Hunter PCP 49/58 shooting his Daystate Redwolf (his first match since ROT!), Scotty H finished 2nd with 48/58 shooting his RAW TM1000, and Jim C finished in 3rd with 45/58 shooting his Daystate Redwolf. Rick K shot 54/58 in Unlimited to win with his FX Crown, while Jerry P finished 2nd with 40/58. I finished 1st in WFTF PCP shooting my trusty RAW TM1000 with 50/58 while David A attended again, but slightly behind me with 49/58 shooting his Thomas FT. David and I were within 1 shot of each other all day, but I came out on top this time. Congratulations to all the top finishers! All the winners received an ASC 1st Place Poker Chip for their collections.
You can see the results below and also be sure to review the results at https://airgunshoot.com/ that shows the average score on each lane, your score on each lane, your hit percentage by lane or near/mid/far targets, how you compare to your class average, your class winner, and the HOA winner. Thanks to Scott Cotton for his continuing work on this. Tell him thanks next time you see him.
After the match was over many of you helped pick up the targets and wind the strings, and then I put everything back into the barn. Many many thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it is greatly appreciated.
See you next month on the 4th Saturday, October 25 for our next match,
