EDgun Matador 23.5 R5 .30 questions

What would cause a sudden velocity/power spike?

This is on my matador R5 .30, shooting regulated, huma reg and power plenum, unchanged from 300BAR to 125BAR. Reg pressure is 120.

I slowly adjusted hammer soring to bring velocity up, then down. When i was happy (-3 column), I put the stock back, and shot a few more shots. All on the same tank of air.
The shots started to feel really extra powerful, and i chrony’d again, and they had gone up 30-40fps for seemingly no reason other than it being put back in the stock. Any ideas?

Does the velocity drop back down if you take the stock off? If not off the reg my thoughts would be the hammer spring was settling out about time you stuck it back in the stock. Other thought depending on the chronograph mine is a Caldwell it changed velocity depending where the projectile pass through. Could be that putting the stock on changed the detection zone. Mine will change about 40-50 fps based on detection zone. This was super frustrating thinking I had bad reg.

I will try this again later- but yes i think it does not. I think you are right it was settling out
