Gen1- Gen2, how to tell the difference? Purchased synthetic stock w/ adj. comb. My barreled action does not mate with the new stock. Preasure gauge seems to be correct, but the trigger group is a no go.
The gen 2 has a shorter trigger frame than the gen 1. You probably have a gen 1 Mrod and it won't fit the gen 2 stock. The gen 2 also has the adjustable comb where as the gen 1 doesn't.
They also have different sears, but that isn't your issue.
You definitely have a Gen 1 gun . . . it's still a great gun, but the synthetic stock won't fit it. I have three Marauders; all are Gen 1.
The trigger group was changed for Gen 2 to reposition it on the tube to accommodate the new stock. I'll admit that the ergonomics of the Gen 2 are better in this regard, but I think the Gen 1 trigger group was better (although the Gen 2 is still very good). There were other changes too, so of which made it better (like being able to make the bolt a lefty, if that matters to you), and some of which were more in the cost reduction camp and thus mostly did not make it better.
