Marauder barrel swap

Will a 22 marauder barrel and shroud work in a 25 marauder? I know a 25 barrel and shroud will not work on a 22 mrod. The barrel band on a 22 is smaller some times And wont fit over the 25 barrel and shroud. I also know the breach and action have a smaller chamber diameter, smaller bolt, and smaller port to barrel and the 22 barrel has a smaller port. 

I know the 22 barrel port will be smaller causing some restriction on airflow. 

Will a 22 mrod barrel and shroud mount properly and seal to a 25 action? Will the bolt in the 25 action properly mate with the breach of the 22 barrel?

No, the 25 barrel and breech are 1/2", where the 177 and 22 are interchangeable at 7/16". The barrel band and shroud are the same across all three calibers. The shroud mount, shroud spacer, transfer port and valve spring are different in the 25. The bolts are unique to caliber.

You're better off buying a 22 Marauder Breech to do what you want to do. Yo!

Bummer looks like getting a 25 mrod and 22 mrod barrel to use in it to change calibers wont work.

You can but that will require you to have access to a LATHE or pay a machinist to make you a barrel sleeve like the old FX guns but it's gonna be cheaper for you to justvbuy a 22 breech to swap the whole top half for caliber swap. May pop up on the classifieds from time to time. Yo!

+1 to what YO said. You should just get an entire 22 cal upper (barrel, breach, bolt, magazines)



I thought about getting a .22 upper to toss on my .225" ported lower...but really not worth my efforts since so much work is involved. I would want to retain ability to swap calibers so at the least I'd have to get the entire .22 upper, or do serious modifications to allow quick barrel swaps (thimble + probe mods for quick change outs)..which I may do some day personally. I haven't even come close to deciding what .22 liner/barrel I ultimately want.



You could just get a 22 cal barrel, and bolt, and increase the od of the barrel by stiffening it up with carbon fiber tube of the right dimensions to equal the od of the .25 cal barrel. This will take custom fabrication and a possible custom transfer port, but its an optional route to take.
