Marauder aluminum air tubes

I have a JSAR aluminum air tube on my Marauder, my wife has one on hers as well. It knocked 1-1/2 pounds off the weight of the gun, I was amazed. The tube seemed to be a teensy bit oversized, I had a heck of a time getting the O-rings to seal. My wife's still has a slow leak, but I haven't got into it yet to fix it. I don't know if anyone else is making an aluminum air tube for Marauder. If they are I have no experience with it.

JSAR is Jefferson State Air Rifles.

Yo what do I need to look for as far as machining.? Has anyone used these tubes and had any issues ? I did contact airgunproshop but they did not know if it had the tp adjust hole. Said they would get back to me. I am still waiting.

Only Jesus can help...

Thank you for the info mobilemail. Did you use different o rings in your gun to get it to seal ? Did the tube have a hole to adjust the transfer port ?

It's been a couple of years, but if I recall correctly I experimented with different O-rings until I found one that fit just right. I also found that I had to use the very minimum amount of silicon grease on the O-ring for it to seal. If I recall correctly, it does have a hole for the transfer port. If you planned to buy one, I would confirm that with the seller if it's important to you. I believe the OEM crosman valves are the only ones that have that transfer port adjustment.

This, was the single best improvement made to my MROD, bar none! What a difference it makes, to the handling of the gun. I had zero problems with mine and it hasn't leaked at all. I would not own any Marauder without an aluminum tube. If you shoot benchrest, or you always use a bipod, then it doesn't make any sense to do it, but I shoot standing 90% of the time and the steel tube is very front heavy.

Using one on my Gen 1 m-rod and love the weight savings.

Tho like some the tubes I.D. specs were on the Large side. ( oem tube @ 1.058" I.D. ) and the Aluminum tube @ 1.064" which made for somewhat loose fitting internal parts.

I had to make an OVERSIZE hammer to get the tilt / binding issue while cocking corrected. ( hammers generally @ 1.050" )

DO NOT OVER FILL past 3K with these aluminum air tubes !!!
