i notice you guys are using a ball hone, i did that too and regret doing so , unless you are seating piston rings it just makes things rough in the tube , i wore my tim hill hammer quick , and made it bind , i suggest you clean up the edges inside with a single round ball hone , the inside of the tube is all ready smooth, a cylinder hone will ruin the already smooth surface, just saying.... i tried it . not a good idea.

I used a hone on a couple of my rifles and they turned out great. Did you use mineral oil when you honed your tube? I have also had great results polishing tubes with mothers aluminum mag polish too. Makes them nice and smooth and shiny! Looking forward to hearing how the probe mod did. Haven't been on for a couple days, it looks like you found some info on polishing the barrel. Your gonna have one heck of a rifle when your finished.

I did use a mineral oil when I did the polishing and I made sure to go back through a few times just to make sure was nice and clean use 320 grit and then cleaned it up really nicely

MDS hammer and a dremel going along all the machined cut outs in the tube that the hammer (or o-rings if you're worried about nicks, which I was) glides by, is plenty..rolled tubing should not need polishing inside due to the process and the strict uniformity requirements of said pipes. If it does, that means your metal hammer likely galled the tube, in which case, some tender sweet love should be given to that hammer area.

The stock hammer should be anything but super hardened steel, as it'll likely gall a tube long before the tube galls it...and hammers are cheap/easy to replace, tubes not so much.

For awhile guys were putting nylon buttons in their hammer (drillling holes to fit said buttons) to reduce the chance of galling, and for a smoother action, and then MDS hammers gained popularity and are now the go to (especially for marauders)...a drop sear is required to run mds hammers which some pcp's may lack...but for those with drop sears and metal hammers, they are BEGGING' for a smooth sliding, self lubricating mds hammer.

Completed my build of the .25 Benjamin Marauder with full Hill internals, and the bolt probe mod tuned to 850 ft per second accurately shooting jsb exact King Diablo 25.39 grain pellets at 50 to 100 yards. Added an Armada breach and a Blackhound Optics 6-24X50 scope and the hill moderator. Getting 44 accurate shots before drop off.

Rick, when I had the 40/40 tune going, your shot string along with all the performance mods done is exactly how my 25 cal performed. Exactly. You have to give credit to Hill and his products. He did all the R&D, went they all the air and pellets, in designing his parts. When he told me years ago all I’d have to do is turn the hammer spring adjust Kent for less or more power and that’s all there was to do, he wasn’t kidding.

The machined probe was just icing on the cake. I had a fellow named Tim who goes by SHORTY on the GTA do mine, and he did an awesome job.

I ordered a new 25 cal bolt and had it shipped to Shorty’s house, and got the modified one back within a week. This is his modded bolt side by side to the factory bolt.

That bolt mod was the cheapest 25fps I ever found. Thanks Augie! That sure is a nice looking gun you got Rick and great job on the tune. My 25 caliber Armada currently get 32 sgot with the 26.54gr Hades shooting around 860-875. I used to shoot the heavies but switched to the lighter pellets a while back and have never looked back and enjoyed the increase in shot count. I have had this thing doing right under 70fpe for 10 shots when I first started modding it but since then I have backed it down to a more acceptable power level.
