Marauder 25 cal.

Stripped down my spare marauder yesterday to do a rebuild & to see how these pcp's work. The pressure tube had some light rust on the inside where the depinger sat (dampener resonance) not bad but I know that it's not good to have rust in the pressure tube. That is the only area, port guage & valve body area are excellent, highly polished. I will be buying a new pressure tube so the question is - is a model 2563 the same as a 2564 ? Also wondering what are your thoughts of usabilty of the exsiting tube ? These marauders seem pretty simple but we'll see after its all done haha. Thanks for any input. D

Sonny- KKarmical - ackuric Sorry guys for the late response had to run to the store with the wife ha. I should have explained that this was my find at a estate sale yesterday in my neighborhood. The table had 7 old Winchesters $2 grand plus price tags & this one guy had that upper receiver in his paws, I don't think he could figure out what it was so when he laid it down & started looking on his phone D man snatched it up. Yes ! mine mine mine smiles ear to ear. I hate those professional garage sale buyers. So late last night I took her apart then cleaned it the best I could for the time I had . I sprayed the air res. & shrould with balistol & let it soak over night. Upon further inspection today it does have some pitting where the depinger sits not deep but pitting. For $40 bucks its a good parts gun -no- I'am going to resurrect it ! everything else is good so eventually another bull pup, of course I'm still hearing the wife in the background. The only thing I can think of it must have came from one of the other family members & was put out there. This is a 2564 mod ( I looked up the wrong parts diagram) & I think they must of used a hand pump to fill it, but I have a 98cu. bottle pumping sucks. One of these days I'll learn to do pictures, this makes no.3 & looking forward to a new top end one when they come out . Thanks for the response !! I think that maybe I shouldn't gamble on the air tube. Darell

$40 is a great price, I wish that I could stumble upon a deal like that. You can totally rebuild it, and once you get fully inside and take it completely apart, you're going to find that they are parts wise pretty easy to work on.

Before I'd buy a new air tube I'd cross post on every forum a want to buy a Marauder air cylinder. With as many people that have replaced them with the light weight one, there are a lot of stock Marauder air tubes collecting dust. I just don't mind the weight as you know the bullpup seems to spread the balance out a bit differently.

Ha, I've modded my Gen II .25 Marauder ( my Frankenrod ) so much I have enough 'spare' parts except trigger group, air tube end/fill plug and complete screw set to build a new one. Do I want to get rid of them? No, because sometime I will build a complete rifle and sell it to recover some money. Good luck in your search for a steel tube , as mentioned there are a lot out there because of the Jefferson aluminum lightweight tube is increasingly popular ( I love mine) and some people will never use steel again. { I even replaced the action/breech with a Armada one because it has the Picatinny rail instead of the crappy 11mm dovetail }

If the rust bothers you, look online at Travis Whitney's YouTube video { https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiXzq4WVA5s } on honing the airtube to smooth the hammer area, it will work for the whole tube with an extension on the ball hone. As per strength, the steel tube is way over strength and will take over 8K when the o-rings blow and even more to strip out the valve screws so a little pitting is not going to hurt if no more happens. Keep the moisture out of it and the tube well lubed with NON-PETROLEUM silicone oil or a grease like 'Dow Corning - High Vacuum Grease' and your good.

kkarmical - Kinetic 45 I have another 25 cal that I bought from a fellow member & have been wanting to rebuild it, just didn't have the gonads. But when I found this one I figured there was nothing to lose. Everything is cleaned up so I just have to get some moly & silicone grease .I'll be leaving this one stock for now since its my first rebuild. I've been watching vids. & everyone on the forum & it has been a lot of help. Still not to sure about these regs. & trigger adjs. but understand the concept- I guess one step at a time. I think I lost my poker face when I realized what was in that guys hands, my heart was just racing it was the last thing on my mind to find in that home.Thanks for all the help & information guys.

I had my gun worked on by a tuner but then one day got bit by the need to regulate it, so I just opened it up. Was I surprised after taking it apart at just how few parts there were.
Did you watch the video Hajimoto did, I wish this was when I was learning my
was around the inside of the Mrod. If you need any help feel free to reach out.
