I have a Marauder as well. Hollows are definitely the least accurate I've shot. I have a couple tins and use them when I'm just burning through pellets to settle parts down or such. Premier Domes are OK, but at longer ranges, the JSB 18 grains seem to work really well. Each gun is different, so try different pellets, but this is a good start. With no modifications from the factory, shooting the factory tune, I could do about 1,5 inch groups at 75 yards with the JSB's. Never could stretch to 100 yards and get smaller than 6 inch groups though. Something happened in that last 25 yards, but at 75, it is accurate. Only tried it a couple of times, so tuning might have helped.

I added a regulator last week and did test shooting yesterday. Much tuning to do, but shooting the JSBs at about 820fps. Right where I want it, so now tuning for efficiency.

The Marauder is a fantastic gun in its own right, Even though I have an FX Impact, I won't sell the Marauder.

Try the Premier Domes, JSB 15.9 and the 18 grain pellets.

If you have or can get access to a chronograph, the Marauder is incredibly tunable. Probably the most overlooked control, because it's hardest to get to, is the transfer port. I carved a notch in my stock so I can easily get to it. The Hammer adjustments are in the back of the action. Lots of info on the internet about how to use them. The factory tune is for a fill pressure of 2800 down to 1800 PSI, and the transfer port is set fairly open. You can adjust the transfer port to control pellet speed. Watch and read up on it. Sounds complex but it's really not. Crosman will supply you with the factory settings for your caliber if you contact them, or I have the settings if you need. Important to always be able to return to factory specs incase something goes wrong.

Good Luck on the endeavor! It's a great little gun.

I've been working to learn my own Marauder's tuning and really appreciate your post. I have an unregulated .177 and have only been experimenting with the factory settings and parts - nothing has been replaced with aftermarket goodies so far. I've tuned my rifle to around 12 ft. lbs. right now and have been concentrating on 25-50 yard shooting using H&N FTTs and Crosman Light domes. Both have acceptable accuracy for my tastes and the combination of the Hammer Throw, Hammer Strike, and Transfer Port adjustability make the experimentation very satisfying. I've learned why so many airgunners who've moved into mid-tier and high end guns say that they'll never sell their Marauders. Just a joy to own.

The marauder is a fantastic learning platform. You get the three basic adjustments that aren't found on most entry level guns. Hammer throw, spring pre-load and the most important, transfer port.

Crosman states that the Hammer Throw and Spring Preload are to adjust for various tank pressures, as some people don't want to pump to 3000 PSI for shooting. You can adjust those two down a bit an allow more efficient air use at perhaps 2500 PSI down to 1500 PSI instead of the factory set where it works well at 2800 down to about 1800PSI.

The Transfer Port controls the flow of air into the barrel, so you can adjust that for a higher or lower FPS.

I just installed a regulator in my 5 year old gun. So next step will be to adjust the hammer and spring pre-load down to where it works well with a 2200PSI fill, which is where the regulator is set, then adjust the transfer port to the appropriate speed. Uncharted territory for me, so should be fun.

Fantastic starter and learning gun for anyone that wants to tinker and learn the fundamental airgun adjustments.
