I'm going to respectfully disagree. Since the gun's TUNE has much to do with hammer spring tension, valve tension, back pressure to close the valve, etc... Also, what are you referring to as the "edge" in competition for FX airguns?I said some of the lowest in the industry, not the absolute lowest... Lock time is primarily decided by 3 main factors, hammer weight, spring rate, and hammers travel distance. FX uses really light hammers, some of the lightest in the industry, with very heavy hammer springs. Feel free to school me if I am wrong. I know there are a few other airguns that are not mechanical and likely have faster lock times, which is why I didn't give fx the crown here.
To add, some mechanically actuated arrangements may have 1 ms lock times, while others may have 5+ ms lock times.

I like the semi auto. Eliminating the full auto, ok for me.There is if you don't mind eliminating the semi auto functionality of such guns.

No problem... If Lock Time was a huge factor, Daystate Red Wolfs would win every tournament...Lock time. The tune has less to do with lock time than the hammer weight, spring rate, and travel distance. I have no qualms with disagreeing nor change in feelings towards ya, respect!

Lock time has “some” to do with accuracy, but not the end all, say all. As Centercut says, there’s valve dwell, there’s amount of time the projectile is in the barrel, there’s reg pressure, and air stripping and all sorts of things that will contribute to accuracy.Lock time. Also, you’re wrong about FX. in fact, the opposite is true. They tend to use lighter springs and heavier hammers. This helps with their efficiency, so the hammer doesn’t bounce back at the valve after hitting it the first time. Heavier springs tend to cause this more than heavier hammer weights.
Gotcha, the reality is the shooter at that level is a MUCH bigger factor than the gun. At the top 20 level in Pro divisions, every gun there is capable of winning, be it FX, Daystate, RAW, etc... FX wins more at RMAC because 90% of the competitors there shoot FX. At EBR, its closer to even between FX and Daystate with Daystate having the slight edge overall. It's why I implied its one of many advantages FX has...I can't speak on them all honestly, only at the results I see year after year.

Oh and actually lighter springs (both hammer and valve) are far more prone to re-opening valves / hammer bounce then shorter/heavier springs. Fwiw...if you want the math, just ask.

Strongly disagree. You can’t just come out and say, lock time is the only factor changing accuracy from one gun to another. That’s just complete poppy cock. There are SO many factors from gun to gun that will change accuracy, not to mention the user themselves. The reaso née have so many guns and manufacturers I. The first place, is because no user is the same.FX uses heavy hammers? Really...how heavy?
There is a much larger disparity in hammer lock times than valve dwell times from pcp to pcp.
