FX Making a solid barrel from liner for FX Impact project completed

A friend was facing issues of POI shift with his Impact.

Just like my own Impact I started the procedure of making a solid barrel out of FX original liner.

Following are some pics of the process that started from making the outer surface of liner a bit rough then wrapping thread around the liner, then applying a very hard and sturdy glue on the liner wrapped with thread. The threads gap filled with the hard glue.

After getting it hardened, sanded the surface of the hardened glue to the extent that it could enter the barrel housing that I have made out of high grade stainless steel.

The process is at this stage at this time.

The next step would be applying epoxy between the prepared liner and the stainless steel housing.

The last step would be to bring the Impact as close to free floating system as possible.

I'm glad my RAW's don't have this issue, because the above procedure is beyond my capabilities.

Finally applied epoxy and it has become as solid as it can.

I tried a solid 30 cal barrel but twist rate was way to fast got the barrel off eBay and it wasnt real specific about what twist rate the barrel was when I measured twist in it I believe it was a 1 in 10. I thought it would be slower since it was a green mountain barrel oh well it was still a fun project

Just a bit of machining is required and then this will be ready to shoot .
