I am not sure if I just never noticed it before, or if something has changed inside the gun. But I have just noticed yesterday that moving the gun up and down (from a horizontal plane), there seems to be something sliding back and forth either in the breach block (aluminum piece w/the M3 logo on it) or below it (if it were a firearm I'd call that the receiver). This only happens after I have taken a shot (I assume there is no pressure inside the mechanics at that time) and when the gun cocking lever is in the forward position (w/out a pellet or pressure). When I move the cocking lever backward until the point of resistance, or cock the gun to shoot, the noise disappears. It seems to be shooting OK (but I do not have a chrono yet and a better scope and pellets are on the way). It is clearly not the mag as I had taken that out bc the pellets give a rattle themselves. If I try to visualize the noise it really seems that something is sliding either on or inside of something back and forth whenever I lift or lower the gun off the horizontal plane. Pointing the gun downward results in a louder "klink" while pointing it up is much quieter as like it hits a hard surface vs hitting a spring or something elastic, moving down and up, respectively. I am a bit concerned that something has broken or come loose? I have not had a chance to look at schematics but was hoping someone w/much more experience to give some feedback. Should I be shooting the gun? Does it need repair?
Any of you mavens, I'd love to hear from you.
