Lunchtime fun with chippies

I sat out on my deck today and got 3, missed one other one. All about 35-40 yards with my avenger.25. Used both diablos and h&n hunter extremes.

Today I sat outside at lunch and didn’t see a single one, however last night the temperatures were much cooler so maybe they’re starting to hibernate, or I got all the adults and the young ones don’t know what to do.

I see that you are in New York. So you may be right. Where I live, Southeast, the temps only recently started to moderate downwards. A couple or 3 weeks, but highs are still in the mid 80's and nights in the mid-60s lately with dew points in the mid 60s. So, I think the chippers here have JUST really started their winter gathering frenzy. Of course, I could be wrong as I only started targeting chippers last fall and am still learning their habits.

Also, I am not sure how much the angle of the Sun has to do with it, but it may have as much to do with it as the temps. Although the temps are still moderate here, nearly all of my Hummingbirds have fled even though we have not seen ANY really cold temps.

Oh well... (grin)
