I got to spend a few hours shooting my .22 Wildcat and .22 Tipan Mutant Shorty yesterday. What a hoot! Both guns put a smile on my face. The Wildcat has a regulator that was rebuilt by Ernest, is an awesome gun with consistant shot strings and great accuracy, but I have two issues with it:
1) Like other Wildcat owners have noted on AGN, my Wildcat needs 3-4 shots to get up to speed (shooting low), then is very consistent shooting JSB 18.1's at an average of 884. I wish I didn't have to "warm-up" the regulator. If a pest shows up, I'll grab the lower powered Mutant Shorty, knowing the first shot will hit where I want it to.
2) I would like to have a little more power but the HST is all the way in. I haven't bothered to pull the regulator to play with it, but if I do, I wonder if I should just put in a Huma regulator.
Anyone want to give their two cents - Adjust the FX reg, or just start over with a Huma?
Here are a few shots. This gun is capible of shooting much tighter groups... but the owner isn't
I'm just not patient enough to be a great shot.
Cheers,
Don
