Lothar walther barrel recommendations

Looking at lothar walther unchoked .22 barrel blanks to get machined for one of my pcp in 23.82" length.

Anyone have experience with different twist rates that LW had to offer 17.7" , 20" and 30" twist rates shooting slugs?

I'm thinking the 20" might be a good medium.....thoughts?

I thought all of LW .22 air barrels have the same twist rate. 17.7

any reason u want of go with LW? 


i would suggest a superior liner epoxied into a 16mm steel or carbon fiber tube.

On this gun I already have a LW 17.7 choked, shoots pellets great, slugs......not to so much.

The easiest option is another LW. I'd like to put a fx liner on but the machine work and other parts to make it happen idk if it would be worth it? I already have a impact with a superior liner, so if I could get this gun to shoot good too with slugs I'd be happy.

So any thoughts on twist rates?

I’ve heard of ppl have decent luck with the no choke poly barrels in raw hm1000x

The slower twist rates (1:20 and 1:30) will do less well with slugs. They are more suited to pellets to prevent overstabilization and instability at longer distances.

I've got a Boss with a .22 unchoked poly barrel in the 17.7. Shoots a wide variety of slugs well. Most pellets I've tried also, very versatile barrel.
