I believe taking pressure off the tank by slightly unscrewing will shut the tank valve and allow it to be dry fired to empty the gun. I've done this before but not sure if recommended. Dave

i dont like messing with the valve on my guns anyway, pretty much the standard method is crack a gauge loose ...

Finally found this on another forum stated more clearly than I could:
Just an FYI, you can also unscrew the bottle before degassing and then you are just releasing the air that's still in the rifle without emptying the entire tank. Makes it much easier to get it back up to max pressure because after reattaching the bottle, you just have to top it off as opposed to filling the entire bottle.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions. Searched long and hard and finally found one on FB Marketplace.
I was worried about unscrewing the cylinder with air in it. Doesn't bother me on my long skinny cylinders, but I'm new to these "Bottle" containers.
