Loss of accuracy

After a lot of pellets going downrange, I got my wildcat sniper shooting very tight, consistent groups at 50 yds. and not wasting a lot of air.

Then for some reason the groups started opening up and POI dropping. I near went nuts trying to find out what the hell was goin on as I had not changed anything.

Skipping the details, Found the compensator had unscrewed some, I noticed it by seeing a couple exposed threads. Screwed it back tight and that rifle returned to its normal shooting.

that's all I did so that must have been the problem. Has anyone run into this before? Don't know how it got loose, gremlins in the garage?

its the FX Donnyfl Silencer.

Yeah I've heard of it haven't experienced any problems myself but it can cock enough and either cause clipping or mess with air behind the pellet also

If it had unscrewed enough to see the adapter threads, I'm surprised you were even on paper! With the suppressor that loose, its movement would cause drastic deviations in the barrel harmonics, so virtually every shot was a flyer.

I had the same problem with my wildcat mklll compact. Took me several hours to figure out what was going on.

Thanks for the feed back, good to know the silencer was the problem and easily fixed, but caused some real concern.

If I had a problem of a moderator coming loose on me I would either put in a thin flat rubber washer or a wave ring washer in between the barrel shroud end and the rear of the moderator. Don’t use an o ring instead with this suggestion, as it’s too thick and may cause poor concentricity and possible clipping
