Loose screws

Red is pretty much permanent.

Permatex makes an Orange threadlocker, stronger than blue but still removable. I have had good results where blue has failed.

Edit: If in wood, what @Hold_Over said.

Using red carries the potential to be extraordinarily difficult to remove. Blue is pretty darn stout unless:
  • a trace amount of oil is present
  • it is not curing or is curing very slowly - "inactive" metals like stainless steel or anodized aluminum will exhibit this behavior
  • the threadlocker is old/expired or became contaminated

Check for stripping or shiny spot on threads... I replaced mine in a hw . Funny thing is the screw I had was far better then the hw one ..

Thing is on the original hw screw it seemed under sized so to say . I may can get a picture of it if it's still in the old screw can .. hang on ..

No but chunking the hw flathead screw and replacing it with somthing " better" I've no longer have issue with it at all.. no locktite ether.. lol

Same size and length just better thread fit vs the hw one .. stays put ..😉
