I'm looking for a RWS Model 48. I'm not ready to buy right now and may end up not buying one at all, but I would like to know a reputable place to buy one. Thank you
Any of the stores at the bottom of this page are all good reputable sellers. Pyramid Air, Airguns of Arizona (AOA) and Airgun Depot should carry that gun. Very good gun btw.
I found a used Diana RWS 52 .22 cal in good condition, dropped a vortek high power kit in it and its my favorite springer now. the 48/52 are very accurate springers
Diana 48 / 52 are great guns and very solidly built which makes buying second-hand a possible route. You'll probably want to use a scope but still look for s/h examples with the complete set of iron sights. Of the two standard calibres I prefer .22".
If you can stretch the budget slightly get a Diana 52 - its really only a more refined stock with the same action.
I hope Michael wont mind but I'll mention our good friends over at the Dianawerk Collective as being somewhere to look for an example. (A good bunch of helpful guys on there - please note its NOT one of those "hotbed of rumour" forums, so it can appear a bit quiet).
Do not over look the Air Arms TX200. I friend of mine has one in walnut and the fit and finish is second to none. They are also one of the best springers made. Another buddy of mine has a Hatsan with a very nice stock. However these guns are heavy.
