Looking for some advice from the pros....

From the way that you are holding over using the reticle hash marks, it sounds like the scope is being canted, not level with the horizon. Mounting a permanent bubble level on that scope tube will ensure that the scope is always held perfect to gravity. Scope bubble levels are cheap and readily available on eBay, Amazon, or at the local gun shop. They are easily set up on the scope tube using a weighted plum line to align the scope's cross hairs with the hanging string. Here's a bubble level set up on a scope sitting in a tripod.

my statement is not in reference to scope cant. it addresses the fact that a scope can only be adjusted to a certain accuracy. if its MOA then you can't adj any less than .25 for the avg. scope and mil is even more. alot of times when sighting in close its hard to see that you're actually off but at longer ranges it shows better. without know what your holdoff is, you may or may not be able to do better, meaning, if your holding 3/8" off you can only adj. 1/4" of that out. unless you are using mils.
now, with that quick test if you return to 50 and you're not still center then you refer to nervoustrig who is yelling in the abyss of mirrors lol
