Looking for reference books.

Evening everyone,

I hope this is the appropriate place for this question. I’m looking for two books. Not specific titles but I would like to find a book that references types and brands of airguns over the last 125 years or so. I would also like to find a reference book on knife design and development, knife makers, photos and drawings going back to maybe 1800. I suspect Amazon won’t be helpful and it’s probably available online somewhere but I still enjoy the printed page. Titles, authors and sources if you know any. My local university doesn’t seem to have what I’m looking for and would want it returned anyway….thanks

Dennis Hiller's airgun books are about as good as you'll find for general identification and descriptions of general airguns mostly vintage. Keep your eye on eBay etc. Or put out a want add.
I learned a lot from Hiller's books before Algore invented the internet. There weren't many other reference books available at the time that covered such a broad range

For shooting skill books Champions Choice has a good selection.
If you are looking for general airgun info look for "The World of Airguns" by Nick Jenkinson and for older guns look for "The Airgun Book" by John Walter. Both are out of print but you may be able to find copies out there.
For knives check out Dixie Gun Works. They have lots of books.

In addition to 'Air Rifles' and 'Air Pistols' by Dennis Hiller, and 'The Airgun Book' by John Walter as mentioned above (these all had multiple editions), a couple other useful ones are:
'Gas, Air, & Spring Guns of the World' by W.H.B. Smith - from the late 50's and pretty comprehensive
'Air Guns and Air Pistols' by L. Wesley - mostly on British and European stuff

If you have a specific area of interest, other more focused books may be appropriate.
