🔶Choosing a Scope

Of course, just like with choosing a gun you can really get into the options and sophisticated functions and all —

or you can take the straight forward simple road (some people actually prefer a low power, fixed magnification over a variable "zoom" high powered scope, and they prefer a simple crosshair without illumination over a holdoff reticle).

🔶The post below (link!) can help you figure out what features you might need, and which are not important to you and your style of shooting.

16 features are briefly discussed.

🔶 At the end of the linked post there are three attachments: 3 Scope Specs Lists — for easy comparison of the 16 features discussed in the post — for over 150 scopes.

Once you know what features suit your shooting, choosing will be much easier.

None of the mentioned HW rifles can reliably hit targets out to 100 yards. The only springers that have the power you’re looking for are the Diana 48-56, sig ASP20, and perhaps a few other magnum springers I’m forgetting about. The cheapest rifle on the list is a Diana 48 at about $300 new and $200-250 used. But the most accurate springer that will reach out to 100 would have to be the Diana 54-56 and those start at $550-600 new. With $550-600 you can get an accurate 50-100 yrd PCP for $300, a hand pump for $100 and still have money left over for a scope. 100 yard PCP is actually the “Jew” move compared to a 100 yard springer
