Looking for Machinist Service

I need to have 3/16 of an inch removed from the diameter of this knob and then re knurl it. I’ll be more than happy to pay for ur services.

Agree ... no way to re-knurl.



As an FYI in doing knurling the part to be knurled would be of the same diameter and much longer held is LATHE jaw or collet being one piece .. very stiff and unflexing.

The knurl rollers placed against the END of this longer rod of material just hanging out enough to get roller contact ... done then parted off with parting tool, material pushed out a tad further and process repeated.
 
Acruz- do you mind me asking what this knob is for? If it’s for the impact, send me a pm. I converted all 60 fasteners on my impact to stainless, and to top it off I wanted a stainless knob for the rear shoulder adjustment, and a knob for the barrel removal, like it used to be when the impacts first came out. I was able to source two stainless knobs that are both approx. 7/8” in diameter with knurling, so they matched up. For the shoulder adjustment it’s 5mm thread pitch by 25mm thread length, and for the barrel lock 6mm pitch and 8mm thread length
