Look what the brown truck brought me.

My RAW HM-1000x came today a day early so I spent the day playing and let my shop work wait until tomorrow. This is one nice gun. Here are some pictures and a couple targets all groups are 12 shot groups. The first picture is at 32 yards 3 groups of 12 shots. The second target has some groups at 60 yards the wind was light to none. Some of the groups were making adjustments I filled to 225 Bar that is all the pressure left in my tank and I shot down to 150 Bar 4 or 5 12 round magazines. I was having so much fun I really did not count but it was at least 4 magazines.

These are the first three groups @ 30 yards after sighting it in at 10 yards the first group was high then I adjusted and the 3rd one was a target dot but it is all gone just a hole left after the 12 shots.

Here is the 60 yard target I reused the 30 yard but added more targets.

This is the shooting lane back stop is 60 yards I shoot from inside my shop building my barn is the building on the left.

The gun and my shop built rest.

That is it for now I will shoot it over a chronograph but today was all about having fun.

"Gundog"I haven't decided if I like the stock color or not but it is unique if I had it to do over again I would probably go with the walnut. I love the fit and finish the color reminds me of a zebra.

Reminds me of a beautiful male Sable Antelope. Google it! If it were mine, I'd name it Sable for that reason.

What happens if you don't end up liking the stock coloring?

I ordered the laminate because the gun pictures on their web site with walnut looked very plain and blah to me but the last couple pictures of guns they made posted on here by 30 Cal & Hunteroak looked great but I had already ordered and they had carved my stock. The laminate was a special order and it was my choice they normally have a choice of red laminate or grey laminate and I wanted mine different. I don't plan to change the stock but if I did I would probably just order the same stock from RAW in Walnut. I will have to measure the over all length I have not done that but it should be 1" longer than standard they made it that way for me I am 6' 5" tall. I did weigh it with the scope it is 11 lbs.

The groups should tighten up some more as I get it all adjusted to my liking those targets I shot were just having fun I mounted the scope and got it sighted in close on a cardboard box and as soon as I was close I got the pellet trap out and put it at 30 yards and started shooting. One of the shots on the cardboard was the first shot that hit about 4" low after sighting in at 10 yards. I had a few fliers trying different holds and adjusting the rest to fit the gun.

The shooting rest I built about 12 years ago and the anti cant device was my design. I built the anti cant rod because at the time I was shooting Metallic Silhouettes and I had built a standing unlimited gun out of a rear grip XP-100 in 7 BR with a 6" high rise scope mount. For those that don't know the high rise is used to move your hands apart for a steadier standing hold. The scope is gripped with the left hand and right hand of coarse the trigger hand for right handers. For this hold you are not allowed to lock your elbows into your body. The gun was fitted with a muzzle brake and a rifle scope is used this is all special equipment and the gun looks strange to those who have never seen one in action. The scope and gun are also canted about 3" off center to make the hold more comfortable. Now if you can picture all of this you can imagine how difficult it is to sight in and test loads with a rest and a scope 6" above the barrel and 3" off to one side this cant rod allowed me to shoot the gun and repeat the exact position for every shoot which before making the rod was impossible. The only part of the rest I did not make was the top with the bag I bought that from Sinclair. The knobs are all made from barrel blanks that were rejected from a barrel maker I lived by in Brookings OR I made him a rest and he gave me a bunch of rejected barrels. One of the knobs is marked 30. Cal I left it that way and did not turn it off with the lathe because I thought it was cool.

The gun is .25 Cal and I was shooting JSB 25.39 Gr.
