Long range five shot groups with pellets, it’s fun again...challenge for today!

Got to say some work to be done here to get in the same league with you folks. I’m complete newbie here and only 36 yards. The first four looked decent and then I had to shoot the 5th one. I’ve only gotten to the bench twice with my rifle but it definitely is different than the powder burners I usually shoot.

We all get the fifth shot jitters. You got to just act like it’s shot number three. Easier said than done. Great group!

I got better 100 yard results shooting a.Shin Sung 177 Career II 707 past 1100fps with old Die2 10.5gr Premiers they were the best.

Same with 22 Career II 707 with 14.3gr Crosman pointeds at 1100fps at 100 yards till I was plain stupid and couldn't leave well enough alone and had a regulator installed and professionally tuned then iI no longer shot good at 100 yards and beyond. Sold the gun after that since U could no longer shoot 300 yards with it like I used to yes three hundred yards.

Flip side I had an FX 500 regulator yanked out and enabled it to shot 300 yards unregulated night and day accuracy difference without a regulator. It became a laser!

I forgot those old careers were capable of extremely high velocity‘s. You’re the first one who has responded to this with something that actually makes sense as far as why in the world a 17 caliber can be shooting that accurate at that velocity. I have a couple boxes of the CP 2s to try.

Ten under a nickel at 102? ... Ok I wasn’t going to post since frankly, this doesn’t look like ten shots, but it is. 102 yards .25 Impact 43.5 grain NSA slugs at 900 FPS.. That last shot got away from me, lost concentration. A nickel is 0.835 inches Damn that last shot!!!
Edit: this was prone with an Atlas clone bipod, hand used as rear rest.

Looks like half the shots are “under a nickel” in the parlance of most target shooters. If stuff sticks out, do you still count it if it appears to barely touch the edge of a nickel? Its a great group, don’t get me wrong, but when most say “dime sized”, or “nickel sized”, they mean the coin totally hides the group.
