In my absolutely psychotic quest to get set up and ready to win EBR, I had completely forgotten why I enjoy this hobby so much. I used to love seeing how far out I can shoot a really small five shot group. I always did this with pellets, because there were no slugs.
Then I decided, I wanted to compete in EBR. Three or four rifles later, I had become unhappy with shooting my air guns...wtf? None of the combination of rifles pellets scope and shooter we’re good enough to make it happen consistently.
I got up this morning and decided to see how small of a group I could shoot with my new red wolf 177. I have absolutely had a blast. It’s what I like to do. You can tell me that they’re not repeatable, you’re right. They’re really difficult to do. But it is so much fun when you shoot a screamer, and you get to walk out and see how small it actually is.
my challenge to you. Shoot a small five shot group at what you consider a long distance and post it today. Not your average group. Cherry pick your very best group or groups.
Here are mine from this morning. I’m shooting a red wolf at 1125 ft./s. The pellets are old Crosman CP’s from the last century. Just under 30 foot pounds, they crack every time.
My goal for this afternoon is to shoot a group smaller than the smallest of these, and post it.
enjoy your day.
