Hey Man , Have any of you guys had any luck with these smaller chronographs ? I been using my app chrono and it doesn't work well at times...And can't stomach the thought of another Table hogging normal chrono !!

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the models above. But, I'll subscribe to this thread to see what the results/suggestions are. I'd like to get into something smaller, reliable, and more hassle free.

This lil guy is used for both world field target and benchrest. I've used one at a few different matches and can say they work very well. Also it doesn't rely on light so it doesn't matter the conditions.

That's cool John ! Found it on EBay for 200$ US . Gonna have to be on down the road . But seeing what's available .

I've owned this small Edgun chrony for maybe 1 1/2 years,and ,it work very well for what I use it for ,mainly to check my Benjamin P rod.
No need to worry about the lightning with this guy,just shoot the gun and read the screen .

I have the Emerson E9700 unit, very small, battery powered (rechargeable), accurate but reads in meters per second. Agrees with my Caldwell within a few fps. Easy to take to the field and use if you change pellets or power adjustment. Its not any cheaper than the Caldwell. I think I paid around $75 for mine. Even though it says it can connect to your PC, it can't, as there are no drivers available for it to communicate with your PC. That tunnel to shoot through is about just about 1.5 inches square, best to hold the unit against the muzzle of the gun when you pull the trigger. If you try shooting through it a different way eventually you'll clip the inside (from experience, but it still works). Its about 4 inches long,

I have this little Combro chronograph, you attach it with a few rubber bands . It registers every shot no err message just shoot read reset and shoot again. I got it on eBay from England it cost around $90 delivered. The best thing about it’s small enough to always be ready for use no time consuming setup.

Nice. Charge it first. Then just turn it on, press and hold the mode button until the 1201 changes and you'll be ready to shoot. It'll show meters per second for each shot in your string. I usually just touch the end of the muzzle to the E9700, make sure its straight, hold it against the Sumo or Ronin so the pellet will shoot in the middle of the tunnel and fire away. Normally I do it with the gun on a bipod so its steady and I can hold the E9700 and press the trigger with my other hand. It would be hard to target shoot and use this at the same time like a regular chrony. But it is very simple, accurate and easy to use. Oh yeah, I've had the chrony tunnel not straight and my .30 pellet clipped the end of the tunnel near the bottom and bent out the back plate, but I just removed it, hammered out the deformation, and screwed it back on. Still works like a champ. I thought it was broke once after I installed the HUMA on my .22 DS Renegade because it showed 256 m/s about 20 times in a row. Remember if your ES is very low, you're measuring at 3 times the scale of fps in m/s. So if your ES is 3 or 4, you might just show the same velocity for many shots...It doesn't show DUP, it just shows the new number even if its the same.

The one Centercut listed is made by Listone (L1000 seen here: http://taiwan-airgun.com/en/product_description.php?PNo=92), and sold under a lot of different brands. As I already explained to Joe by PM, it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Aside from the metric readout, it is not something you shoot through 6 feet away! Its accuracy is ± one digit, which is close enough at least for what I use it for. It does have a rechargeable battery, and 1/4x20 socket on the bottom (think camera tripod), so it can be used in the field as a double check so to speak! I paid $114 for it (PayPal too!), and it only took 12 days to get to me from Taiwan.

i would stay away from the yellow, it is more like for airsoft guns.
i still got the R2 which is NOT airchrony, the R2 is Polish, while the Air chrony is made in Chech republic,. I prefer the on off toggle switch on the R2 in the back to the micro switch style buttons of the Air chrony. works well, using often.
i had the combro too, which worked well until the 3-4 button batteries needed changing, after that LCD display was missing some digits/lines, bad connection on the pcb, the covers screws pass throught the pcb, later on I managed to shot off the front sensor, bent it back still worked, then i got the R2.
I had a V shaped competition electronics too, for bow/arrows but was erratic, clouds and lights affected the results so in my opinion it was junk, I shot the display after a week.
If you get any, use a fat plexi glass with a window/cutout, R2 and Air chrony both recommended

I had this same chrony and it worked very well. Some people swear by these barrel mounted chrony's because you don't get the shot to shot variation that you get from moving your gun slightly while trying to shoot over a regular chrony. Only thing I didn't like is you have to press the reset button after each shot. I have had mine for 2 years now works well and easy to set up.. Combro also has parts if you need them.. Also if not reading right the blast of air can be dealt with by removing the cover tube..
