Lightweight scope for Evol .22

Hi everyone...like the title says I’m looking for a good lightweight scope. The Sightron 3-16x42 is on my list but I’m wondering if there is something else I should be looking at. If anyone has any experience with the gun any info is appreciated.
I DECIDED TO GO WITH THE US OPTICS TS 12. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS. I CHANGED MY MIND AND WENT WITH THE HAWKE AIRMAX 4-16x44. I LIKE THE RETICLE BETTER AND THESE OLD EYES NEED THE INCREASED MAGNIFICATION.

Thanks

After having high magnification with big 50mm bell's, and with them the added weight, I have since started liking the smaller LVPO scopes. The only downside is the lower level of magnification.

Depending on how much you want to spend, here is this short, small, and decent magnification that would fit the Evol Mini well.

Here's a fairly short 13.5" scope with a 50mm objective lense on a standard sized .30 caliber Evol for size comparison. An LPVO like this Swampfox 1-10×24 SFP takes off about 3" in overall size and weight, has decent magnification for hunting and shooting out to 100 yards.

i can recommend this if you are looking for an LVPO 1-10 for under or around $500.

i need a higher mount, but other than that, it punches way above the price. super clear, super bright, great illumination and choice of reticles.

This is something I’m considering...

Leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14x40mm Riflescopes,

13 ounces with the Boone and Crockett reticle. Any good?

this replaces the model i suggested above, and i would again recommend it, although i don't own one. for field use, a lifetime warranty and reputation for being tough counts to me.

of course, you can see a $2100 leupold in the background above.

USO TS-12 3-12x44 FFP MHR 9.6" loa, 18 oz. Made in PRC, inspected in NC, last I heard. Lifetime warranty. Add to cart at 349$. Love mine.

edit: The reviewer that sold me on the scope. I watch this guy for my next new scope. Note similar Vector Veyron 3-12 FFP has only 5 year warranty and the reticle is not as good.

The specs I saw referred to the Sightron as being 12.9 ounces.

Were you looking at the specs on Optics Planet by any chance? I think they got the specs wrong otherwise that would be one hell of a long scope unless it has 10 inch sunshade. They got it backwards.

Here's the specs direct from Sightron...

Which Evol 22 do you have or thinking of getting? The Mini or Standard length?

Tommy, 😊

the Athlon Talos 3-12x40 Mildot DOES have side parallax — and you can focus it down to 10 yards (SFP, capped turrets).

https://athlonoptics.com/product/rifle-scopes-talos-3-12x40-mildot-sfp/

The above referenced Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 Side Focus is a different story:

"Minimum Parallax-Free Distance: 75 yards"

And the issue is not that the crosshairs are in focus, but that the parallax error is dialed out so you hit what you think you're aiming at:

10 or 15 yard parallax is what most airgunners require.

As far as I can tell, Leupold is not interested in building scopes for us airgunners.....

I'll attach a Scope Specs List for short and light scopes (and 3-12x or 3-9x scopes) — easy for comparison.

You get 10y parallax, holdoff reticles, prices, weights and lengths.

Happy scope shopping! 😊

Matthias

I have the Helos G2 2-12x42 as well. IMHO there's nothing in the entire market right now that can compete with it for the money. It's that good and as you can see those that bought it are very happy with it.

I also have the Talos 4-16x40 SFP. I bought it as a stop gap scope for my coyote/varmint rifle that I mostly shoot steel with. I never replaced it because it does what I want it too. Mine is the mildot reticle with mil turrets. 4x for hunting, 10x for holds to be correct when using the reticle, and 16x when I dial for distance.
