How are these pinty guns? I saw some mixed reviews early about the rails being wrong, and being very loud. I guess for proper hunting its not a huge deal.

N/A Lightweight pcp for squirrel hunting

The Urban is not bad, just not super lightweight. The Urban has excellent balance and with that stupid pickle gone is fantastic as a Jeep gun with the bare barrel it is so compact or with the suppressor screwed on it is very quiet but no longer Jeep friendly. The M-Rod Super Light in that photo is noticeably lighter than the Urban, makes over twice the energy and is equally accurate if not more so and the Urban is accurate. I have two Urbans and they are excellent rifles save for that pickle thing.

A real Airforce Condor can be had for $395 at their outlet store right now. Not much more than a Pinty, and you get a lifetime warranty from a company that will still be around in a few years

They are mostly sold out now, they had other configurations available last week. I think they go on sale a couple times a year though. I got a 25Cal Condor for ~$500 a couple months ago. The regular Condor does not have a shroud so it will be on the loud side of pcps, although you can add a moderator if you wanted. The Condor or Talon SS has a shorter barrel and is internally moderated in the shroud/frame, they come up used often for great deals. These are not regulated but most have a stable ~20 rounds under the curve. A TalonSS in 22cal would be a sweet option too if you can find a used one for under budget, but there are lots of great pcps listed above so you have some homework to do =)

I have four M-Rods. Two I bought more or less and two I built entirely from parts scrounged, bought and made. That particular rifle cost a pile-O-cash and shoots like it cost a pile-O-cash! .The rail atop the Gamo Urban came from that Country Store place in the UK. It along with super low rings and my 40mm objective scope barely clears the barrel. Along with a larger TP from the same place. It also has the GTA trigger which give the Urban a trigger nearly on par with the M-Rod.

How about a real backpack type gun? Reximex RP in .22. Spare cylinders are relatively cheap, spin empty one off , spin new full one on. Removable stock so you can shoot as pistol or short carbine. Have it tuned to 12 fpe and get enough shots at decent power.
I’ve had mine for a while now, I put a red dot on it and it’s less than 4lbs. Accurate out to 30 plus yards shooting mid weight 15.89 grain pellets. It’s got a lot going for it. I replaced a PP750 with this one and it’s a much better fit and finish. I have a Velox and while it’s a heck of a lot of fun, I’m not sure I would hunt with it. It’s not accurate enough to be confident of making a killing shot and I have no desire to wound an animal that ends up running away and suffering.

The SPA P15 is even lighter than the P35 and has a wood stock. It is rear cocking, however. Krale had them priced pretty low last time I looked. Power should be the same as a P35.

You can get an adapter or Talon Air sells moderators made just for the Condor. Here is mine with the AirForce FATS adapter. DonnyFL also makes an adapter for the Condor.

Look I have a pinky bull pup since the first week take him out. I haven’t had any problems with it. You can buy aftermarket magazines, their attention shots, and instead of nine shots you get about 37 to 45 shots with one feel it’s regulated and depending on what kind of scope you might have a little bit of issues it’s pretty quiet and a weight only 5 pounds my shoes, Crossman inexpensive pallets almost as good as JSB pallets

Sorry I had an old guy brain fart. I read Pinty and first thing that popped into my head was the AirForce copycat pcps. I know the Bullpup models have far less issues than the rifle and AF versions.

I'll recommend the Stoeger Bullshark too. Very accurate out 40 yards. That is the longest distance I have shot it. You can't beat the 5 year warranty for the price of the gun. Stoeger does stand behind their warranty.
