Lightweight .22 hunting springer build project just for fun

Hey guys 

lm thinking about doing a lightweight .22 hunting springer build just for fun I'm thinking I will purchase a lightweight I.E. under 6.5 lbs 

.22 springer and build it for hunting small game to 35-40 yds

Here is what I'm thinking about so far 

gamo big cat .22 

install mccarri e 3650 spring 

install apex small seal 

install whichever grt trigger fits in it 

Install 3x9x32 or 40 springer rated scope and rings

Find the guns best pellet and sight in at 35-40 yds 



I realize there are other guns to consider for a project like this too so please feel free to post what would be your choice for a lightweight springer 

build if you were going to try it the only reason I was thinking the gamo would be a good choice is because they are fairly easy to work on 

have good accuracy that can be made better with tuning and are lightweight for all day carry in the field 

will it shoot like an r9 or hw95 maybe not will it be a joy to carry while hunting and hunt small game to 40 yds well ?? 

I would guess so

I had an original Gamop 1000, fired 10.3 at 999fps , and.............grouped well after a full tune.

The RWS34 is the same $ , easy to work on and has s better rep. than the Gamo. No need for buying an extra trigger that way.

The rws 34 is a great gun. I have one in .22 and I'm sure it would be an easy project to make it even better than it is however 

all the 34 s I have shot including my own don't come close to 6.5 lbs they are fairly heavy and might be a chore to carry for a day afield 

fantastic rifles tho I love mine
