I was going to suggest Wildcat Compact, and I almost got one of those. I ended up going Maverick Compact and am very happy I did. The Maverick is only 3oz heavier, but you get so much more gun.

Picked this AEA-HP-SS-30 up a couple weeks ago with the intention of just using a red dot on it.
But in testing it shoots much better than I expected, so I put this 4-16 compact scope on it, and its still fairly lightweight imo.
Semi auto compact .30, I mean really what's not to like

Well, depending on your power requirements, a converted bullpup Prod might be a legit option. Under 25" with moderator and about $800 with regulator set up. Definitely a good 50 yard or less gun. It's what my wife is going to be packing for squirrels.

I would advise caution in looking at really light rifles. They are, in general, more difficult to shoot well. Having something easy to carry sounds appealing, but if you can't hit with it, what have you accomplished? Of course, it might just be me, I don't hit too darn good with anything!

The thing with that is even no scope I am still starting at 7lbs which isn't to bad but without trying or seeing an immersive I am hesitant.
You ought to consider running a compact huma moderator like I do. I think it weighs like 3.5oz
I will second this as well. My Crown in hunting configuration is 9.5lbs, and feels NOTHING like 9.5lbs mainly due to the barrel and moderator being extremely light. VS this 7lb config, the 9.5 is more balanced, and more stable. And still extrmely easy to do off-hand shots with.

How many shots are you getting on your setup?
I haven't done a full shot strings yet and have been topping off after 2nd magazine (18).
Chronograph stopped working after 1st magazine and have been waiting on the new one to arrive to find out if all 18 shots are usable or if there are more shots available for use or less.
If shot count is a concern then there's the SS plus version which has a larger air cylinder and only slightly longer OAL.

Not my gun, but its pretty easy to add a bottle, and this one is set up to get 60+ shots and I bet the carbon bottle is lighter as well.

For the AEA Hp SS 30 I get 2 mags of 9 rounds each for a total of 18. With the Hatsan Vortex pellets at 48 grains I got below numbers out of my fx chronograph. 2 shots did not register. So basically about 40fpe
