LGU One of the best

Heads up for you LGU owners and prospective owners.
Check the screw in this part

Mine loosened up.
No loctite evident from the factory.

Loctite applied, crisis averted.

Never heard of it happening before, but sho nuff, it vibrated loose.
Threads were very clean, maybe some trace of machine oil, but that is it. Maybe Hans or Franz thought he had dabbed it with locker, and reefed it tight?

I am often told i have a loose screw , but D#@% if i can find it !
We are having a 'loose screw club' meeting in Columbus, see ya there!

Not wanting to annoy any LGU shooters here (and agreeing it is a custom tuned rifle straight from the box) they never really had much take up in the UK.
Early 60s Walters accepted, these new range of Walthers proved flawed.
The issue revolved around the cast metal receiver. A clam shell trigger block securing the guide rod.
Tuning houses here were not very impressed, describing this aspect as similar to the build quality of a Crosman 766, but housing a mainspring and guide rod, not a tiny hammer valve that the 766 does. When compared to the massive trigger block of say a HW80 they felt hesitant in working on the gun in fear they could not guarantee their work. Several cracked at the location of the guide rod interface and the rest was history...
Best advice, do not alter it from OEM spec as any meddling could possibly cause issue...besides, it's already custom tuned OEM...so enjoy it as it is...
