Level's, Level's I don't need no stinkin Level's or so I thought

I usually put my rifle in a secure rest that I can lock it down in making sure the action / rifle is level. Hang a plum bob 25 yards down range and look thru the scope and turn it to vertical match the plumb bob and gently cross tighten it. I have several scope levels as well as machined scope leveling shims and
I have found out that leveling across the scope caps or using the leveling shims under the scope, may not be true with the reticle in the scope.
Which may be acceptable for shooting air rifles and their distances, but not for powder burners reaching out a tad farther. So I just stick to the same old method that I know works for me.
